Many disorders of mental health have become pressing issues in the world over the time. There are many types of of disorders related to mental health--one of them being nightmare disorder. Nightmare disorder is a very complicated disorder that can really mess with people's life and ability to get enough sleep. Nightmares are characterized by having frequent nightmares on a daily or weekly basis. This disorder comes from having a lot of anxiety, depression, or even stress in your life. Some symptoms of having the nightmare disorder is having more and more stress, anxiety, and depression than the average person. There are multiple reasons to treat the nightmares, but you cannot fully get rid of the disorder; however, you can manage the disorder by doing a therapy called Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT). You perform the therapy by “changing the ending you remember from your nightmare” (Nightmare Disorder, Mayo Clinic). Nightmares have a short history but a long story behind them. Also, people can have hallucinations and nocturnal deaths; in nocturnal deaths, people can die in their sleep from a dream, and they have no control because it will strain their heart in their dreams to where they cannot breathe. X talks about nightmares in one of his songs, “Everyone Dies in Their Nightmares.” Lastly, there are many films that are heavily focused on nightmares, like the Nightmare On Elm Street
