WHO WAS HE?
Norman Borlaug is a man known for winning the Noble Peace Prize, starting the green revolution, and exceptional wrestling abilities. All of these accomplishments are founded in a firm education and understanding of the world. Norman chose an unusual education path to learn the skills he would need to excel in life while working hard to receive an education at the University of Minnesota over a period of five years. This education enabled him with scientific understanding along with the mindset and drive needed to be the founder of the green revolution. • NORMAN ATTENDED A ONE ROOM SCHOOL HOUSE NAMED, #8 RURAL SCHOOL HOWARD COUNTY IOWA, FOR FIRST THROUGH EIGHT GRADE.
• NORMAN WAS THE FIRST IN HIS FAMILY TO COMPLETE TWELTH GRADE. HE DID THIS AT CRESCO HIGH SCHOOL. AT CRESCO, HE FOCUSED ON FARMING.
• NORMAN WENT TO A TWO YEAR PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA IN 1933. HE WORKED HARD TRANSFERRING AFTER TWO QUARTER.
• NORMAN SATRTED THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AGRICULTURE'S FORESTRY PROGRAMIN IN 1934 GRADUATING IN 1937.
• NORMAN CONTINUED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA TO STUDY PLANT PATHOLOGY EARNING A MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN 1940, ALONG WITH A PH.D. IN PLANT PATHOLOGY AND GENETICS IN …show more content…
