Norman Vincent Peale once said, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” This has been a philosophy that I keep very dear. With this thought in mind, I strive for excellence in all that I do and try to make the most of whatever opportunities I may encounter. School gives us the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, and develop our character. Our teachers and parents play an integral role in helping us understand and utilize these opportunities for our benefit. Opportunities can come and go but ultimately what we get out of them is what we make of them.
I think of myself in the context of Peale’s quotation and as far back as I can recall I have been fortunate. I have been fortunate not only in the opportunities
