The North Dame Cathedral in Loan, France was first assembled in 1155 however, construction lasted until 1205. Starting from the west, the Cathedral’s floor plan begins at the narthex or the porch, there are three portals each serving as an entrance. From the entrance, you will continue down the main walkway referred to as the nave into the center of the Cathedral known as the crossing. On either side of the nave is a single aisle. To the north and south of the crossing are the transepts. Beyond the crossing and towards the east of the Cathedral is the chancel.
