Why should the world be aware of North Korea?

The world should be aware of North Korea because of all the problems within this country. North Korea’s communist regime is insane. Kim Jong IL has completely taken control of North Korea, commanding with a cruel and unjust hand, and although we are cautious of the potential threat he poses to the world, nothing is really being done to stop him.
Not only is his threat to the rest of the world’s peace something to watch for, but we should also look at the lives of the North Koreans. They have to suffer underneath his rule without one say against him. Kim Jong IL’s command is fueled by fear and complacence. The people want to believe everything is okay, that their country truly is perfect, but this blind faith in Kim Jong IL is wrong.
If we don’t focus more on the problems in North Korea, they’re only going to get worse. What the world is doing is keeping this country at a distance, but that inadvertently means we’re ignoring the pleas of those crying out for help. They may not come out and be able to express their true opinions because of the threat of themselves and/or their families being murdered, but it’s obvious they’re in serious need of help from the rest of the world.

Provide specific examples from “Inside North Korea” to justify your opinion of their communist system.

The main theme that was present throughout the entire video was fear. Fear of Kim Jong IL, fear of his officers, even fear of one another. Communism in North Korea is truly taken to a whole new level of dictatorship. What I saw was people so afraid and blinded by the popular opinion, that they themselves lost sense of what was truly right.
For example; when that doctor was able to give a lot of the North Korean’s their sight back, it wasn’t him they thanked. Each and every one of those poor, misguided people praised their precious leader.
