Olga: One particular individual who had a big influence on my practice over the years was the nursing mentor I had in my first year of clinical practice. I was feeling overburdened by my workload and was considering resigning all the time, as I had previously mentioned. Nonetheless, my 50-year-old nursing preceptor provided me with guidance, instruction, emotional support, and assistance in managing the demands of my job. If I had not met her, I doubt that I would have needed more time to grow in my nursing profession and adjust. Evilina: That is incredible. How one person or incident may change both your personal and professional life is fascinating. My close friend and nursing instructor has supported me academically throughout my time in school and continues to push me to reach new heights. Question 5 Evina: How have you impacted the nursing practice of others? Olga: I have influenced other nurses' practices by mentoring recently graduated nurses and offering them the emotional and mental assistance they need to adjust to the clinical environment. I have also influenced other nurses' practices by working together with other colleagues and sharing the workload to create a positive work environment. Evilina: That is really inspiring. I hope to have many opportunities to positively influence other nurses' practices. Olga: My primary contributions to care and leadership are that, anytime I have the chance to lead, I have improved my health department's resilience and teamwork.
