The researcher used two research instruments for this study. One research instrument was made intended for all the employees in the organization to gain knowledge on what is current and actual happening in regards to the personally-owned devices that are being used within the company
The second research instrument was made for both the IT and mid-level management team such as business unit supervisors and/or managers. There are significant questions that were adopted from the BYOD Survey Instrument of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) which is global, non-profit organization focused on health transformation through information technology, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
Both research instruments comprised 10 items which were crafted with a combination of both open-ended and close-ended questions which will be used for the purpose of triangulation in the analysis. …show more content…
• When asked if the company provides training of orientation with regard to the use of their personally owned device at work, 14% answered that they had attended some trainings on mobile security, while 86% answered they no.
• When asked if they understand and have a distinction between personal and corporate data, 98% of the survey respondents answered yes they understand the distinction between personal and corporate data, while 2% answered no. 53% of the survey respondents answered that they created and use separate folders for personal and work files; 27% answered that they have mix personal and work related files, while, 20% of the respondents did not specify they answer.
• 36% of the survey respondents confirmed they had lost their devices, while 43% of the respondents mentioned that they had changed their devices for the last two years.
8. Conclusion and
