Data Breach:
An incident in which protected, confidential and sensitive data is potentially viewed, used and stolen by an unauthorized individual is known as data breach. It may involve personally identifiable information (PII), personal health information (PHI) and intellectual properly or trade secrets. An attacker hacking a corporate network in order to steal sensitive data is the main purpose of data breach. (SearchSecurity, 2015)

Measures to avoid data breach:
1: Change default passwords: Using default passwords is one of the step to enter data breach. Thus, in order to avoid, use good password policy by choosing any character string but not the default password.
2: Don't reuse passwords: Using same username or password combination is very common. But

Work must be done collaboratively with the data owners in order to secure sensitive data and remove the damage that could arise from the breach.
5. Collect and review any breach response documentation and analyses reports
• The data breach must be assessed in order to determine the probable causes which will help in minimizing the risk of future occurrences.
• The causes of the data breach must be addressed properly.
• Feedback from the responders or any affected entities is necessary.
• Breach response activities must be reviewed and also the feedback taken from the involved parties in order to determine the effectiveness of response.
• To make sure that the past breaches do not reoccur, it is essential that your information security and training program must be modified that would include the countermeasures and remedial measures of previous breaches.
