Consider the following before conducting the installation:
Connect the laptop to a power source.
Ensure there is at least 25GB of free storage space, or 5GB for a minimal installation.
Have access to a DVD drive containing the version of Ubuntu that will be installed.
Ensure there is a recent backup of your data. In the unlikely event that an incident many occur, it is a good idea to have a backup.
