The computer is ultimately the heart of an overall studio set-up. In terms of music production it is important to research a variety of computers with the intent of finding a good manufacturer, comprised of good build quality that is robust and will stand its test of time. Two considerations which were key on deciding what computer model to purchase is RAM and processing power.
OS X has a more stable platform overall in comparison to Windows, which is probably the primary reason I chose Mac for music production. Appleās reliable environment ensures that my focus can kept on music production rather than platform maintenance.
In terms of the end goal for my backing track I think I may incorporate some new and different elements into the track to experiment with. One possibility could be recording some guitar parts into my DAW with the use of a (DI) box, using Ableton to apply effects such as compression, distortion, reverb etc. Another alternative is using a microphone such as the SE Electronics SE 2200A MKII, a large diaphragm condenser microphone which will perform well recording both vocals and instruments for electronic music producers.
