Choose one of the four prototypes (cases) based on embedded interaction.
I considered the four prototypes that have been discussed in the provided text. Some I felt didn’t enhance the process to which they have been appropriated, such as a smart knife and breadboard. While considering these, I felt they might be hard to market to a mass audience, or truly enhance the experience of a kitchen environment. For me, the most significant idea was the idea of touch input being applied to clothing. More specifically, the prototype that had the most potential was the bicycle helmet, retrofitted with sensory equipment. I believe that this will enhance the experience. There are some key advantages, such as sports tracking, navigation, and even safety. Such technology could also be applied to motorcycle …show more content…
I have identified three key areas where a helmet could be used to enhance the experience: Safety – Sharing location, in an accident identified by a sudden motion sensor. Additional sensors could even allow the rider to contact someone in an emergency. Navigation – Precise location using GPS technology Sports – Gathering of data related to performance, such as speed, and temperature. This would be dependent on the quality of the software developed to utilize and enable these sensors. What makes this approach is that it has a simple approach to hardware that can be applied to various needs. There would be a tracker for location, which would provide the precise location of the device and the user. The text considers the idea of touch controls on clothes, which could have some benefits. I believe that the case study considering helmets could be an interesting
