I base this order on several assumptions. First, that the online survey is developed through a third-party site (i.e. Google Docs or Microsoft Forms). Second, that checking projectors involves simply turning them on to ensure they are functioning and ready for use. Third, that the rooms that house the projectors are in a small geographical area relative to the prep room where the scenario begins. Fourth, that I have a pre-existing relationship with the vendors and that the event is planned.

Finalizing the playlist may seem like a minor task, but more likely than not, involves processing data from a spreadsheet, finding an appropriate app or program to use, and ordering the songs appropriately for diversity; all require the use of a computer. Since I am already on the computer wrapping up email responses and have been compiling the list, there is no reason to walk away from the machine until all the tasks I need to finish are complete. The institute maintenance request survey is also computer-based, so that’s the second item to complete while sitting on the computer. No outside information or data processing is involved, it should be a simple matter to contend with, especially if there is a pre-existing version from prior institutes that can be simply modified for the current year’s website.
