2. My CI and other PTAs have daily caseloads of nine patients or more. They spend an estimated 30 – 40 minutes a day per patient on documentation. So, on average, considering they each work 8 hours a day I belief half their time is spent on documentation and the remaining time treating their patients. The main differences I found between the documentation styles of Casamba SMART and the one used in PTA 102 lab was the detail of information required, and format to record notes. The documentation note used in PTA 102 lab is in a SOAP format (subjective, objective, assessment, plan); while the Casamba SMART is separated by goals, objective, and planning. The online document system at my clinical site, unlike in PTA 102 lab contains sections that relate to patient's goals.
