Good morning Jennifer,
I enjoyed reading your post, and you made a very important point “. If bedside nurses are not helping to improve patient outcomes within the facility they work for, they are failing the community they live in.” After 40+ years as a nurse, I feel there is a need for our leadership nurses, to be more aware, and supportive of what we do. In our facility the presence of administrative leaders functioning (at their levels) beside the staff, enhance the working environment, helped to remove barriers related to leadership roles and creating a positive effect on quality improvement initiatives in a microsystem.
