There are many aspects to gender as a whole, in which some are built off of the traditional male and female views, and others aside from these standard perspectives. Exploring more into the topics of masculinity, femininity, transgenderedness, and biological male and female traits reveal many answers as to how gender can affect the health and well-being of an individual. Biologically, females are more susceptible to diseases such as breast cancer and Turner syndrome, emotional aspects of violence, and they also typically live longer than men. Diseases like breast cancer and Turner’s syndrome may cause a decline in perceived health, and influence the happiness and wellbeing of those affected. Women affected by these diseases may live shorter lives than those unaffected and have a decreased quality of life. In addition to these illnesses, women are also affected by physical, mental, and emotional violence more than men. Violence towards women may cause visible and non-visible wounds to their body and minds. Abuse can lead to depression and increased rates of suicidal thoughts and/or
