My nursing change proposal is “In full term newborns greater than 36 weeks, does skin-to-skin contact compared to no skin contact affect the newborn's body temperature using an axillary temperature during the first 24 hours after birth?” The three Nurse of the Future Core competencies that relate to my change proposal are Patient-Centered Care, Evidence-Based Practice, and Safety.
