1.0 RESEARCH VARIABLES
This is a concept, characteristic or trait that varies e.g. takes on measurably different values within an identified population in a research study (Rae W Langford 2001).

6.0 ABSTRACT
This is a clear, concise summary of a study. (Nancy Burns & Susan K. Grove, 2001) It can also be reffered to as a brief description of a completed or proposed study, usually located at the beginning of the report or research work Denise F. Polit. Cheryl Totano Beck (2008)
An abstract is always seen at the beginning of any work but it is written last because it summarises about what the study is out to achieve, methods of collecting data, the design for the work, the result, the discussion and summary of the work. An abstract should be between 250 and 1000 words.
6.1 OUTLINE FOR AN ABSTRACT Nancy Burns et al, 2001 outline the essential components of an abstract as follows:
i. Title of the study ii. Introduction of the scientific problem statement of the problem and purpose identification of the framework iii. Methodology

- A disclosure of appropriate alternative procedure or courses of treatment, if any, that might be advantageous to the subject
- A statement describing the extent, if any, to which confidentially of records identifying the subject will be maintained
