There are many nursing theories available for nurses to apply to their lives and teachings. Many of these theorists have become role models for us to rely upon. As time passes we begin to incorporate these teachings into our own application of nursing. After careful consideration, I would like to touch upon the theorist that impressed me the most with their teachings. I will also be discussing how I have incorporated Jacksonville’s University School of Nursing Philosophy into my profession.

It is an important feature that is used to protect and magnify human dignity. Second engaged learning is important to gain knowledge that navigates to excellence in nursing. Third, scholarly inquiry is the recurrent search for knowledge and its utilization to the professional practice. Fourth, clinical excellence is progressed through comprehensive learning opportunities provided through health care. Fifth, leadership is an essential quality in nursing. It can be taught through participation, activities and mentoring. The last component is technology. Watson believes that caring is vital in nursing. She has two assumptions: first care and love make up the primal and universal psychic energy, second care and love are key for the existence and nourishment of humanity (Blais & Hayes, 2016). I agree with this. I believe that with caring and loving will have a positive and healing effect on the patient. These components can also promote a faster healing time and create an affirmative outcome. Watson believed that holistic health care is central to the practice of caring in nursing. She defines nursing as "a human science of persons and human health-illness experiences that are mediated by professional, personal, scientific, esthetic and ethical human transactions" (Petiprin, 2016). Watson enveloped ten caring factors and caritas. The word caritas is defined as esteem, affection (Blais & Hayes, 2016) Watson believed that healing was not just a physical attribute, but a spiritual one as well. Incorporating the two can have a greater outcome and benefit for the patient and their family. Watson’s ten carative factors are: first, forming humanistic-altruistic value systems, second instilling faith-hope, third cultivating a sensitivity to self and others, fourth developing a helping-trust relationship, fifth promoting an expression of feelings, sixth using problem-solving for decision-making, seventh promoting teaching-learning, eighth promoting a supportive environment,
