Reflective practice within healthcare environments and disciplines, is an experiential and investigative process that is conducted on one’s self. Reflective practice is having the ability to evaluate and critique one's own performance and experiences, through the application of ‘critical thinking’ practices, therefore in-depth analysis during reflection is able to take place, and promotes the acknowledgement of both negative and positive ruminations (Leigh & Bailey, 2013; Richardson & Maltby, 1995; Usher & Holmes, 2014).
