My parents have taught me to always lend a helping hand to others. Growing up, my family has taken in several of my siblings friends that need a place to call home. Seeing this, along with many other moments planted a compassionate seed within me. I have seen it sprout throughout the years through my work of being a shoulder for others to cry on, donating presents and packing lunches for underprivileged children, and giving those in need the money in my pocket. These seem like small acts, but I have learned that something as small as a warming smile can change someone's day. Although I am constantly trying to please those around me, I remain aware of myself. I know that it is important to try to be the best at everything you do in order to excel at those things. Through my years of school I have become an excellent student in aspects of academia, sports, and involvement. I ened my highschool career as the Valedictorian of my class, never earning anything lower than an A, and I have so far continued on that streak. Along with taking pride in my schoolwork, comes having integrity with it. This means that I hold myself to a high level in a world where becoming dishonest is so easy.
