Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet
Part 1
For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health:
Includes body functioning, physical fitness, and ability to perform activities of daily living. Physical health in in my life consist of daily walking to maintain a balanced heart rate. My goal is 10,000 steps a day.
Social health:
Ability to have satisfying interpersonal relationships. In my life this is a main ingredient to perfect health. Having stress free relationships with others will satisfy your social health needs.
Intellectual health:
Using brain power to effectively meet challenges and the ability to think clearly or reason. Keeping my brain and mind stimulated with simple board games or problem solving techniques, help keep me intellectual healthy.
Environmental health:
Appreciation of the external environment and one’s role to preserve, protect, and improve its conditions. The precious time I spend observing nature and all its beauty is a good example of staying tuned with environmental health.
Emotional health:
Self-esteem, self-confidence, self-efficacy, and other emotional reactions and responses. In my life my emotional heath has its highs and lows. I usually suffer with symptoms from PTSD, with that being said, my emotions sometimes are all over the place. I currently am in the process of recovery and learning to deal with this. I will regain control of this and have great emotional health.
Spiritual health:
Feeling as if part of a greater spectrum of existence. My belief in God keeps me in
