“Under the OSHA Recordkeeping regulation, covered employees are required to prepare and maintain records of serious occupational injuries and illnesses, using the OSHA 300 Log.”1 All covered employers must record all work-related fatalities, injuries, illnesses, restricted work or transfer to another job, loss of consciousness, or medical treatment beyond first aid.1 However, there are a few limitations to the OSHA 300 Log. Employers that have 10 or fewer employers are not required to record certain work-related injuries and illnesses using the OSHA 300 Log.2 Also, low hazard industries such as retail or finance, are not required to use the log.
