Born a black man-
Who- What- Who and What will I be-
A doctor with an Oxford degree-
A CEO financing their own company-
Or will I be hanged like the limbs - Off a willow tree-

Will I walk unto the paths of stereotypes that has been laid before me-
Will I become a gang member hustle and smoke weed-
Will I be able to grow my hair in dreadlocks- like cotton budding from its seed-
Or will I be cut down like a dead tree-
Will I walk with the class of 2017-
Or will the white man’s bullet pierce me-
Will I foresee all the potential and opportunities within me-
Or will I be assaulted by those governed to protect me-
