This act is extremely supported by the democrats. The affordable Health Care Act will allow parents to cover their children up to the age of 26. Already 2.5 million Americans have taken advantage of this. This will go into effect in 2014 where more people are going to start having insurance. A lot of things about the current health care system are unfair, doubtful, careless and unaffordable. This Act will allow us to expand our rights as Americans and most importantly better our health. There are many things that our society isn’t concerned about just because it doesn’t involve them. But the fact of the matter is that countless amounts of people are risking their health and their lives every single day by not consulting with doctors simply because they can’t afford them. We rarely hear about these situations for the reason that most of us have our healthcare insurances, but what about the rest? This Act is most definitely one of the biggest and important contributions any President has made for our country.
The great wonders of this Act are that it makes it illegal for insurance companies to deny anyone because of pre-existing conditions. You absolutely cannot be turned down because of your health or your past health records. For instance cancer patients require very pricey treatments, but don’t worry because you won’t be turned down due to the fact of the expenses. For example, something minor such as an ear infection treatment can cost you up to $1,500 dollars but applying for the Healthcare Act will reduce your cost to a very reasonable price.
Although this Act seems extremely great for those who are uninsured, it might not be such a great movement for the people of the higher class. The bad side of this is that payroll taxes will go up on high income workers. That’s when Americans will have to buy health insurance because otherwise you will have to pay a penalty of 1 percent of your income to the IRS. The penalty will increase to 2.5 percent by 2016. After 2016, the percentage will keep going up depending on the amount of people in the family or household. It’s better to apply now or you’re going to keep wasting your hard earned money.
Obama Care was estimated to cost about $938 billion over ten years. That’s almost 1 trillion dollars. As the years go on the cost is only going to increase. There’s going to be more kids upcoming into this world, which means the population of the uninsured is going to rise and they are going to need health care as well. This law actually reduces the growth in health care spending by tens of billions each and is estimated to result in an overall net decrease of the deficit. The outcome of
