Obama and His Failures
Obama has ultimately failed as a President. Under Barack Obama, the U.S. economy has performed worse than it did under any president since the end of the Great Depression. Every recession since World War II the economy has been boosted and been even stronger until the next recession but during Obama’s “economic recovery” the economy has never came close to what it was in 2008. Since Obama’s presidency began 11,472,000 Americans have left the workforce and fewer Americans are working today than in 2000. The number of Americans on welfare has hit an all-time high with 20% of Americans on food stamps in 2013 and 11 million Americans getting some sort of disability check. When Obama was running for office he criticized Bush for adding debt and promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of four years. He called Bush “unpatriotic” for having so much debt yet during his presidency he has had more debt than all U.S. presidents, Washington through Clinton, combined totaling a horrifying 7 trillion dollars.
While running for office in 2008 Obama promised to unite American. Since then he has created animosity between fellow Americans. Obama has been the most hyper-partisan President in decades. While running for President he claimed to believe that marriage should be between a man and a women but he refused to defend the states’ bans on gay marriage in the courts. During the Trayvon Martin case Obama pitted Americans against each other racially instead of calming them down. In the Henry Louis Gates case he attacked the police forces and created even more racial tension between Americans.
