What is Obesity? Obesity is when you have too much body fat. It is not the same as overweight, which means weighing too much. It is very bad on a person health and can lead to some long term effects. Obesity have doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years. Obesity remains a major problem in the world today. Lack of physical activity and poor eating habits causes obesity.
Many people find it hard to change their eating habits. If a person is serious about their health then they should make the adjustments to live a healthy life. It will require hardworking, commitment, and dedication. Obesity is a result from an energy imbalance. The body requires a certain amount of energy from food to keep up basic life functions. When the body intake more calories than it burn it then stores more body fat resulting in a person being obese over time. One of the main problems is food choices. People should take the time to read the labels and nutrition facts. People need to stop blaming the fast food industry for being obese. Make better food choices to live a longer and healthier lifestyle. Instead of going to McDonald’s go to subway for a change. It’s a sacrifice people need to make.
One thing people complain about is how they don’t have time to work out. The time spent sitting around is the time a person can put into use. 30 minutes to 1 hour a day is a great start to being active. Some physical activity is better than none. A person should be motivated to make lifestyle changes. Sometimes people have practiced some habits for so long that they don’t even recognize how unhealthy they have become.
The saddest thing is how obesity is just killing our people. They see it on the news and read it in the newspaper but still choose to continue to live the same way. When obese have taken its toll on someone the health risk are overwhelming.
