Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects adolescents and is when a child is well above the normal weight for his or her age and height. Childhood obesity is again a very serious matter, the extra weight can start children on a on the path to health problems that were once confined to adults, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. When other children and\ or adults make fun or bully kids who are less healthy, it can lead children like me to having poor self-esteem and depression. I may not be obese but I am still called fat and I know how it hurts.
I believe that children who are overweight shall eat healthy and be active in-order to be healthy and stay active. I want my generation, the next generation and the following generations of youth to be active and as healthy as can be which is also NFL’s Play 60’s mission. NFL Play 60 is a national youth health and fitness campaign designed to tackle childhood obesity and focuses on increasing the wellness of young fans by encouraging them to get out and go play for 60 minutes a day. Along with NFL’s Play 60, First lady, Michelle Obama has a campaign called Let’s Move! America’s move to raise a healthier generation of kids. Everyone needs support and Let’s Move! incorporates what parents, schools, community leaders, elected officials, chefs, health care providers, and the children themselves and what they can do to help themselves or whoever is effected.
