Have you ever been to the holocaust museum in Washington D.C.? The Holocaust museum is a place where you have to know if you are ready to go. The holocaust was one of the most tragic events in history, in which Hitler and his Nazi army/government took the lives of 6 million innocent jews. This is an objective statement because it is backed up by facts. Objectivity is not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts. And subjectivity is Based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions. Some non-fiction texts present topics in a balanced way which includes both objectivity and subjectivity. One example of objectivity is “6 million Jews and other victims who were systematically exterminated by Nazi Germany during World War II.” The fact that six million jews were killed during the holocaust is just mind blowing. This is objective because it is a measurable number. It also shows how bad the holocaust was and how many people were affected. Another example of objectivity is “Stark brick and steel halls echo the look of the barracks and gas chambers of Nazi concentration camps.” The word choice in this sentence shows a tone of eerie. This is an objective visualization because the museum was built to resemble a real concentration camp. And finally the last example “A sign explains that as many as 100 people would be crowded inside for days without food or water.” This shows the central idea, because it shows the conditions that it was to crowded people didn’t have food and water.
