Observation Of Hope House: Living Hope Baptist Church

Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which he has given you. (Deuteronomy 16:17) Since I was a young child, my family and I have been attending Living Hope Baptist Church. Growing up around the word of God, one very important lesson church has taught me is you should give rather than receive. Living Hope opened a gospel based development center in downtown Bowling Green, called Hope House. Hope House is a non-profit organization supported by individual people, churches, and businesses. Their main goal is to lessen physical and spiritual poverty throughout the community. If I were given $25,000 to help make a difference I would give the money to Hope House because my family and I have volunteered there for years. The Community Store is a thrift store welcome to all people who are financially in need. . The store sells the donated home items at a more affordable price. It contains clothing, non-perishable food items, household items, and kitchen supplies. Although Hope House depends mainly upon donations, the organization still does buy these items to keep inventory up. Peoples from all over Bowling Green who are in poverty come to Hope House to receive everyday items they can not afford. These items help families on a day-to-day basis. From volunteering at Hope House, I can see how much of a difference a small item, such as soap or a jacket can make. This part of Hope House has changed hundreds of people’s lives and continues to do
