Jessica’s behavior being observed through the frequency collection data sheet is the child choosing to kick and punch her desk throughout the school day. Besides the frequency data sheet a structured interview also took place while observing the students behavior. The students’ parents and professionals a part of the student's academic team also participated. For example, the teaching assistant took part. The observed behavior for Jessica takes place in varies settings and activities throughout the day. The dates of these observations were October 16th through October 19th. On average Amy’s challenging behavior will occur four to six times a school day. The behavior examined does coincide with specific events such as when the student is asked to perform a task. After the negative behavior has occurred the student tries to remove herself by getting up to leave. Amy’s challenging behavior being observed is her disruption to her class by consistently interrupting the lesson being presented by trying to talk to friends. The observation took place January 15th through the 19th. The behavior being observed takes place when the student is supposed to be listening to her teacher’s present information. On average the student will disrupt the class by trying to communicate with friends five to nine times in a school day. Her behavior coincides with the particular classes such as gym, music and while her general education teacher is only supposed to be talking. The function this behavior serves for the child is that she wants to talk to her friends and not take part in the different class activities.
