Many of us have had this question in the back of our minds, but I think it is time to answer it. He has an extraordinary relationship with the gods, is quick minded with an intelligence that surpasses the regular human being, and he shows uncanny strength throughout the whole story. With all of these things put into place, I think we can agree that Odysseus from The Odyssey is an epic hero. Odysseus shows the traits of an epic hero by having a beyond normal relationship with the gods.An example of this trait is his relationship with the goddess Athena.
