In “Thirteen Epic Animal Migrations That Prove Just How Cool Mother Nature Is,” Elliot explains how the wildebeests migrating patterns are tremendously risky and can even kill them “Wildebeests migrate Northward every year from Tanzania to the National reserve in Kenya in search for greener pastures for grazing” (Elliot 7). Nevertheless, these animals risk their fading habitat for a not so pleasant journey to a destination that they may not even find but they make the sacrifice for the greater good. Another example of a different character that goes through a risk is Odysseus in the “Cyclops,” section of the Odyssey. In the “The Cyclops,” section of The Odyssey, Odysseus has to take a risk after being trapped in the Cyclops's cave where he has to tie his men under sheep to sneak out. “I tied them silently together, twining cords of willow from the ogre’s bed;then slung a man under each middle one to ride there safely, shielded left and right” (Homer 378). In order for Odysseus and his men to live he had to take a risk that could have major consequences by placing his men in the face of death by strapping them under the sheep and praying that the Cyclops isn’t too intelligent and won’t notice them and the risk paid
