While Odysseus was on his journey, he has encountered many people like Polyphemus and his helper Athena. Cyclopes is a one eyed giant who traps Odysseus and his men in the Island of Polyphemus cave. Polyphemus ate one of Odysseus men slowly and slowly. Later on Odysseus came up with a plan to blind the giant so they can open up the cave and escape. Polyphemus turned out to be Poseidone. Which he is ¨God of the Sea.¨ Poseidon punishes Odysseus and its men by not letting them reach back home to Ithaca, by damaging the sea currents.
