Dunkley is a proponent against the notion of free trade; he discusses the myths of free trade in relation to the realities that they present. In his critique he expands on numerous assumptions that must be made, in order for free trade to cherish. According to Graham Dunkley, if countries utilize the comparative advantage doctrine, it will results in “gains from trade”. What this means, is that, they will specialize and produce in those areas that they are most efficient which will allow them to benefit from each other.Comparative advantage could also make a country acquire too much variety in products.
