In the text it says, “His fame rested on solid personal achievements… had brought honor to his village (Achebe 1) . In the quote the author explains how Okonkwo had been rewarded and his town was in fact proud. This evidence shows how Okonkwo is the opposite of his father as one was being honored and the other was not. The words “achievements” and “honor” show how he was shown off by his village and that they are proud to have someone like him around. In the text it says “he was in fact a coward..the grown-up, was a failure” (Achebe ⅘) . This evidence says that Unoka was in fact a person who lacks courage. This connects to how Unoka was different compared to his son by being a baby/sissy. The words “failure” and “coward” show that Unoka had very little in common. In conclusion, Okonkwo and his father Unoka share differences as well on being a failure and Okonkwo having his own achievements.
