For over 20 years, the Culinary Arts program at BPCC has allowed its students to show off their stuff to the hungry public with a weekly buffet. Diners feast upon breads, salads, soups, entrées, starches, vegetables and desserts prepared and served by students.
Each week a different meal is served. In October there is an Oktoberfest menu. In November there is a Thanksgiving menu and in December there is a Christmas menu. The ever changing menu served coincides with …show more content…
Local foodie and craft beer lover Megan Davenport is especially looking forward to the Oktoberfest menu.
“One of my friends has been touting the buffet for years. I finally got to attend last year and I am particularly looking forward to the Oktoberfest menu. As your friendly neighborhood craft beer girl, I am excited to have the beer and cheese soup” she said.
The best parts of the buffet are the quality of food and the low cost of $7 according to Brittanya West.
“I was amazed at what they did, and at what I was getting for $7. I thought everything was restaurant-quality at fast food prices, and it's almost impossible to find that intersection of quality and value in the area” said West said.
Regular diner, Kimberly McKinney loves the food and cost as well but warns that one must be prepared when embarking on this culinary adventure. McKinney offers up some tips for navigating the experience.
1. Show up early.
“First off, you want to show up early. The lines can get long, especially for the Holiday meals” said Mckinney.
