The advertisement is unsuccessful at conveying its promise because it doesn't have good composition. Usually, the composition of an ad would help viewers better understand what the company is selling and get a sense of that product; however, the Old Spice ad’s composition fails to do this. In the advertisement, the focus is a man with a fake beach around his shoulders with fake little people and water attached and a volcano on his head. There is also a shark that is hanging off of his body as if someone would be deep sea fishing.
