The conflict in the book Old Yeller is similar and different from the conflict in the article. In the book Old Yeller, Travis and his family are fighting against many different causes. Some who have a virus called hydrophobia, and some who are just wild. Travis and Old Yeller must protect the rest of the family with Travis’s father gone. Now there are many times when they have to do risky things to keep the family safe. When a cow came back after escaping from the farm, she started acting strange, like ignoring her new calf. As the days went on and the cow kept acting weird Travis realised that the animal had hydrophobia and had to get rid of her. That is just one of the ways Travis had to protect the family.
