Maya Angelou is speaking to the entire human race when she wrote the “On the Pulse of Morning” poem. The Earth is trying to push all people to stand up delighted on a compressed rock and put an end to the hiding in the wickedness of the past. There is no doubt that in the poem “On the Pulse of Morning” the writer reveals the importance of equality in life. Not to mention, individuals, locations and all things have all transformed over time for the positives and negatives. Namely, everyone deserves to be treated with fairness just like the next person. We are all humans and we are all the same just a different color but equality is not something that is earned but, should be given to everyone. According to the poem, the rock presents the base of lives for human beings and educates the people that their life cannot be enclosed with was has happened the past. Additionally, the rock symbolizes peace. Moreover, peace is essential in our society because without peace there would be no life as a result of war and violence. Specifically, peace is what keeps the world unified, it is a state of understanding for one’s beliefs and differences. Furthermore, the poem reads, “Each new hours holds new chances For new beginnings in stanza 16 (lines 48-49)”. Conversely, this means that everyone can have a second chance to to make a change in their life with an effort that has to be put forward first.
