Online child enticement is the high-tech or computer crime topic that I have chosen. Additionally, I will explain my rationale for choosing this topic. My reason for choosing the topic of “Online Child Enticement” is; that I have eight children (including my fiancé’s two older sons) and “two” are twin, 12-year old daughters who are very vulnerable to this type of high-tech or computer crime. My twins are and have been “surfing” the Internet for a few years now, and they are now with their mother (my ex-wife, now friend and Christian Sister in Christ) and their step-father (who is now a Christian as well) in the State of Tennessee. • At least “one” adult must be present in order for our children to use computer (s). Adult means, anyone who is 18 years or older, and has full mental capacity to make critical and competent moral choices of “right” and “wrong.”
• Most libraries have a “one to two-hour” limit on computer access per day. We have a similar time-limit, which is “two-hours” for ordinary usage for homework assignments, and another additional hour or two for entertainment purposes (gaming, video streaming, etc.) More time may be given if needed for school assignments and special or more entertainment activities. However, all members of the family must agree upon extra computer usage before the extra time is given.
• Any abuse of computer “privileges” (computer usage is a “privilege,” not a “right” in our homes) will result in a “one-day” suspension of privileges, and more, if the abuse (s) are serious and grievous in nature (Note: Suspension of computer usage applies not only to children, but also to adult members of our family.
