It isn't always feasible for people living in rural or remote areas to access counseling as there may not be any in close proximity. People who find it difficult to seek out help due to shyness and/or embarrassment may find it more palpable to access online counseling. Shut-ins, due to lack of mobility or a phobia would be more inclined towards an online option.
