Since the end of school last year and the beginning of summer till beginning of this years school year, I was having moderate to mild pain in my right hip. It hurt when I did anything. I couldn’t stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time without having pain in my right hip joint and groin area. I brushed it off during last soccer season because I was varsity and wanted as much playing time as I could. I would just take 2 over the counter pain medicine before and after every practice and games and ice after or during practices. When summer came around I really didn’t have a set schedule but when wrestling camp came around I was icing after and taking more aleve. When we went to go see the physician he read the xrays and said nothing looked damaged or broken, so he did various hip rotations and tests, I was reading up on hip injuries and I had asked him if I could have torn my labrum, and he said we will treat it as your IT band (iliotibial band) because I don’t think you tore your labrum, so he said 6 weeks of physical therapy, and take it easy in the weight room half squats not full ones. When it came end of my 6 weeks of physical therapy I was in even more pain, when we went to see the Doc. again he said you're on crutches for a month or until I say and you're scheduled to have an MRA (MRI with dye injected into the joint.). The week after the MRA we see him and he starts laughing and says well it’s not good news at all, you do have a tear on your labrum like you thought you might have did, so I’m sending you to see a surgeon. Two weeks later we go and meet with the surgeon, he pulls up the MRA and says well i see the tear, it’s bad enough you have to come see me. He asks my mom and I some questions and how we fill about a band-aid fix, a steroid cortisone shot and have surgery in Dec. that way I don’t miss too much of
