oscar peterson was a fine young man who was in a family of 7 oscar peterson was raised in a poor neighborhood called St. Henri what is also known as "little burgundy". When he was five years old he started playing the trumpet and piano but soon after his brother Fred at age sixteen died of a disease called "tuberculosis" and Oscar Peterson continued with just playing the piano. His older sister Daisy was his instructor (Later on in her life Daisy became a respected piano teacher in her black community) for a brief amount of time and so at the age of 12 Oscar Peterson started getting lessons from a man whos name is Louis Hooper but again after at age 14 he started getting studies from Paul de Marky.
