The dictionary definition of homeostasis is the tendency of an organism or a cell to regulate its internal conditions, usually by a system of feedback controls, so as to stabilize health and functioning, regardless of the outside changing conditions. The kidney maintains homeostasis in the body by regulating the amount of salt …show more content…
Diffusion helps blood, body fluids, and oxygen passes through the cell membrane in order for the cell to survive. Osmosis helps water pass through the cell membrane. In the article, it says “ the kidney reduces the excretion capacity to as low as 100 milliliters per hour”. the kidney help adjust into the environment of a person who is doing a moderate activity. Also in the article says “the cell makes many different proteins that perform vital functions, and if they were able to easily pass through the plasma membrane and leave the cell by diffusion, then the cell wouldn’t be able to work properly and would die”. This means that the cell adjusts itself in order to maintain homeostasis.
Cells have to take control and maintain its chemical content. It has to be able to keep up with its chemical content in order to survive, this is an example of how the cell maintains homeostasis. Diffusion and osmosis constantly threaten cell life. Diffusion isn’t the only force that the cell has to contend with to stay alive. Osmosis affects the cell by replacing the lost stores after you sweat, and exhale breath.
As you read this essay both diffusion and osmosis helps all organism to maintain homeostasis. Diffusion and osmosis are crucial in helping the cell to survive. They play a huge role, letting things in and out of the cell. Plants absorb water from the soil
