While you might think it can't it definitely can. Studies have shown that the more jealousy you are the more it takes over you and the more jealous you get. If you don't let your jealousy show than it is much better and will help keep it at bay. In the story of Othello, Othello learns of his wife when Iago tells him something that is a lie. Instead of sitting back and thinking he lets jealousy kick in and lets it embrace him. By doing this he doesn't just ruin his marriage but also his friendship and his life. He gets so caught up he actually get killed later and it all started because of jealousy. Now if you are jealous that doesn't mean you are going to die, but, it can definitely have negative consequences if not dealt with.
On the rebuttal side of the argument many people have stated that jealousy is an okay reaction and is normal. It causes no damage and does no harm. But I doubtlessly clarify that it does, while I agree jealousy is a normal reaction to our bodies and brain. It indecisively does indeed, cause pain to you and someone else. Wanting or feeling like you want for something you don't have can be bad. Seriously when wanting something it only hurts you more. I will rebuttal and say it is
