Othello through the play is a victim of racism, he is referred to as the “Moor “even by his beloved Desdemona. Despite the love Othello had towards Desdemona Iago’s intentions where too powerful towards Othello’s mind and made him blind towards any possible explanation besides Iago’s. Iago is not stupid, he knows exactly what he wants and he has a set up mind goal of what is his purpose towards the future of Othello. Iago guided Othello’s mind through many key events that didn’t took too much to think to find them true. For example earlier In the play Barbantio, Desdemona’s father accused Othello for using black magic because he couldn’t assimilate the fact that his daughter Desdemona could be in love with something she could be terrified of. Iago said to Othello “she did deceived her father, marrying you, and when she seemed to shake and fear you look, she loved the most” (III.iii 210-212). Iago used something that was key against the relationship of Othello and Desdemona, it was true Desdemona did deceived her father to be with Othello but that was only because they loved each other. Othello feels sinned against because he is poisoned by the comments Iago has to say, by bring in suspicion towards Othello that if she did deceived her own father, her own blood then what makes him think she won’t deceived him.
Furthermore, Iago doesn’t need proof of any kind to assimilate things, this in the negative side has a lot of bad consequences towards the characters in the play, but mainly with Othello. Iago says to himself “He’s done my office. I know not if ‘t be true, But I, for mere suspicion in that kind, Will do as if for surety” (I.iii. 379-381). Iago has already many reasons to hate the moor, but it’s finding new ones, convincing himself that there are more simply find a better purpose for what Iago is doing. But by Iago’s purpose into finding what it seems to be a justification, its affecting Othello the main character, he is being the victim if Iago’s sick revenge, by thinking Othello slept with his wife Emilia. When the audience well knows that Othello loves Desdemona and would be incapable of cheating on her.
Iago is the main reason why Othello lost it all, he feels sinned against because he was victim of an ignorant man who all he cared was to bring people down and impose his will at any cost. Iago’s ambition, selfishness and evilness resulted in the tragic death of Emilia, Desdemona and Othello. He felt sinned because he was a man that through the whole play, he was a victim of racism but he managed to overcome all of that regardless. However Iago’s plans of revenge slowly took over him and like a snake wrapped around his throat.
Othello’s is justified because although the audience knew exactly what was going on while Othello did not. He had no idea he was being fooled by Iago’s word. Due to the extreme hate towards Othello, Iago takes extreme conditions to seek revenge. Iago says “ For whiles this honest fool piles Desdemona to repair his fortune and she for him pleads strongly to the moor, I’ll pour this pestilence into his ear” (II.iii.333-336).Iago is going to take advantage of the situation Cassio is to bring up the suspicion that Desdemona and Cassio, his right hand have something. He is planning to bring drought and desperation into Othello and for him to storm out. After all he is just a human being acting to what his natural instincts would do.
Iago takes his revenge into the next level, and persuades Othello that Desdemona is a strumpet and that she has a secret relationship with Cassio therefore she must die. “I
