I. Attention Getter- There are five subtypes of schizophrenia: paranoid schizophrenia, disorganized schizophrenia, catatonic schizophrenia, undifferentiated schizophrenia, and residual schizophrenia.
II. Brief Introduction- Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects almost all the five senses, but most commonly it manifests as auditory hallucination, paranoid or bizarre delusions, disorganized thinking and speech, and social dysfunction.

Main Point 1- Schizophrenia Causes A. Supporting Point- Schizophrenia is a complicated disorder that is difficult to understand and according to researchers believe that it is a combination of genetics, brain chemistry and environment contributes to the development of the disorder a. Schizophrenia runs in families b. In fact recent research has found that people with schizophrenia tend to have higher rates of rare genetic mutations. (Pyschcentral). c. Families of schizophrenia suffers are more likely to be diagnose with this disorder than friends from families that are schizophrenia free. d. Researchers have two major theories about the way that genes play a role in causing schizophrenia. 1. One of the theories, Harvard molecular biologist Steven McCarroll believes that risky C4 gene variants are responsible for over-pruning, suggests that schizophrenia can result from a normal stage if teenage brain maturation gone wrong (Mental Floss). 2. The second theory is that scientist have found small charges in the location or structure of brain cells that are formed before birth.
