Typology Reflection My political typology is that of the Outsider Left view. Individuals of this group have liberal views on issues concerning immigration, race, and the environment. Making up 16% of the Democratic Party, people in this group do possess liberal views but they are more indifferent towards the democratic party. This disinclination, in stark contrast to the other democratic groups, is highlighted as a defining characteristic of the Outsider Left group. I align myself with a wide variety of the concepts and views of the Outsider Left group. I would describe myself as having liberal views on matters of societal, humanitarian, and environmental issues, as well as some governmental concerns. However, demographic characteristics and personal qualities don’t make up a political group. There are a plethora of issues and current events that further my alignment with the Outsider Left Group. To begin, immigration issues and laws have taken control as an incredibly significant problem in America. The United States stands as a strikingly diverse country, having a vast amount of foreign-born residents compared to other countries. The mass increase in immigration and issues concerning it have been left unresolved and heavily debated by most American citizens. A lot of Americans feel illegal immigration is a critical threat to national security and believe that it should be hampered. I think that immigration is an imperative factor in the diversity and community of America. Immigrants seeking to escape hardship or simply coming to America for better opportunities are not doing any harm. I fully agree and believe that immigration accessibility is very important in America, and establishing a way for immigrants currently in the country illegally to stay in the U.S. legally should be a high ranking goal for the nation’s immigration system. Additionally, the state of the environment is an important topic that defines my political typology.While not just in America, climate change is an increasingly apparent issue and its depth and direness are also a heated topic of disagreement. Climate change remains a lower priority for some Americans, and a good portion of the population refuses to believe that it’s happening at all. This along with other factors presents the great debate on climate change and the status of the environment which includes: who and what is causing global warming, does action need to be taken, and what specific action is that. Some steps have been proposed and explored like incorporating solar and wind sources of renewable energy into the lives and practices of citizens, which presents the goal of limiting the effects of climate
