In 1951, Orval and Mary, with their children, Jerry and Mike, take a vacation with their brother-in-law and daughter, Ralph and Gwen Stauder. For one week, they share a cabin in a resort area called Arcadia. The two families spend a week in a screened in cabin. This is the first of many summer vacations that will be spent in the Ozarks by the two families. Orval is 43-years-old and Mary is 44. Gwen (Koehler) Stauder, age 21, is pregnant and is carrying Mary Rose Stauder. The final note of depression for Orval is his getting chigger bites, probably contracted in the outhouse. It’s a testament to both families that they agree to return to the Ozarks the next summer. (L44) …show more content…
Guild, O.M.I. starts the first Solemn Outdoor Novena honoring Our Lady of the Snows at the St. Henry’s Seminary grounds in Belleville.
