According to the Tesco PLC website their sales in the UK for 2008 where £34,858,000,000, ex VAT and globally £47,298,000,000

Tesco is a very big company and they actually make on average £3 Billion per year profit

Oxfam
Oxfam is a large scale organisation but it is contrasting to Tesco as Oxfam as it is a non-profit making organisation and Tesco is a public limited. Oxfam is an global confederation of 17 organizations networked together in more than 90 countries

The part of the economy that is not state controlled, and is run by individuals and companies for profit. The private sector encompasses all for-profit businesses that are not owned or operated by the government

Tesco is in the private sector as it is a profit making organisation it makes money buying goods at a cheap rate then selling it on at a higher rate

OXFAM
Companies and corporations that are government run are part of what is known as the public sector, while charities and other non-profit organizations are part of the voluntary sector

Oxfam would be classed in the public sector as the public donate to Oxfam and the charity commissions that look over Oxfam is appointed by the government so it is government run making it in the public sector

Tesco buy goods at a cheaper rate from supplier at a large amount then sell it to customers at a cheaper rate in there supermarkets the reason they do this is to make profit
Tesco’s products started out as just food but now they sell a wide range of products these include food, clothing, sim contracts and now even banking

OXFAM

Oxfam is a charity what they do is they get donations from the public around the world and use the money to help the needy
If there was a natural disaster Oxfam would give food to refuges of that country as well as supply tents all the basic needs required

Tesco want to be able to keep their carbon emisions down by making new buildings, they also want to make their business objects which have to follow this method Specific - this means that the business can make some specific objectives that the business wants to achieve, so if they want to hit a certain target of profit within a year they have to make a business plan or model to follow to achieve their goal.
Measurable - this means that if a business wants to make some money, they can measure it in a certain amount of time, so if a business can make £1000 pound in a month, then maybe next month they could forecast making an increase of that amount by studying the business activities throughout that month.
Achievable - this means that a goal that the business can achieve with in a time period, so if a business wants to make £1000 pound of profit in a month, then they could make it happen with the products that they might have to sell.
